Kitchen Demo

Well, my kitchen remodel is underway! My wonderful husband is overseeing demo today and my understanding is that things are going well; I have yet to see as I'm at work! Anxious to get home though, wonder how many days I will be kitchenless?!

Julie/Julia Project

First of all...Happy New Year; I'm positive that 2010 is going to be a great year and much better than 2009!

I watched the movie "Julie and Julia" last night and felt the urge to create a challenge for myself. I'm not quite as ambitious as Julie Powell (365 days, 527 recipes), nope not me! And I've enlisted the occasional help of my Husband who is as much of a foodie as me, if not more so!

So, the challenge is to create a 5-course ethnic (Italian, French, Lebanese, etc.) meal for 4 or more people once a week. We will use a variety of sources for recipes, ideas, etc. Some will be for the two of us (leftovers), some will be family meals, some will be for dinner parties, and some will be shared (a la Tupperware) with lucky friends to share with whomever they like!

My camera is on the fritz right now but as available I will have lots of pics to accompany my blogs about these endeavors.

Maybe it doesn't sound like much of a challenge to you but remember that I have a full time job, 3 boys who play sports, and am in the process of starting a cake decorating business with my Mom; shoosh, sounds like my schedule is already full!

OK, so we are going to start ASAP; we're also embarking on a kitchen remodel SO we'll do our best (maybe some test recipes before the challenge?)!

abouzidenaffair.com

I started a website last year to promote my event and travel planning business, A Bouziden Affair; unfortunately the economy has gone to s#%t and so I haven't been doing a lot to try to build that business. But as that particular aspect hasn't been so in demand, my Husband's business is flourishing and so if you go to the website and click on partners there is now some information about Bouziden Painting & Design. And since my Mom and I have decided to start a business making custom cakes there is also information about Cakes by A Bouziden Affair. The site is still in the early stages, still need to hire a web designer, but at least you can get the lowdown on how to contact any of us for whatever you're in the market for! Check it out!

Isaac Joshua Corbett is 16 years old!

My son, my first born, my baby is 16 years old today!

I'm not old enough to have a 16 year old son...I don't look a day over 25 and am only actually a few days over 35; so explain to me how I became old enough to have a 16 year old son?! I, myself, was just 16 years old last week. And he was just born on Monday.

Is it possible that I'm in denial?

Cakes by A Bouziden Affair

It's official; my Mom and I have our first custom cake order, to feed 300 people at the FAA! Daunting considering that we just started and are still taking classes but luckily we seem to be somewhat talented at cakes.

If you are in the market for a cake for a special occasion or just for fun, contact me.

Time flies when you're "having fun"!

Yeah, so I've been a bit lax in my blogging; the downfall of having a Husband, 3 boys, a job, a household, sports, laundry, 3 boys, a commute, friends, wine, 3 boys...did I mention 3 boys (and all of their activities)! I've also adopted 2 cats and started taking a cake decorating class; there is not enough hours in the day!
